Dr Jen Nash - Clinical Psychologist

Where is your service based?: Positive Diabetes is a therapy and education serviced based in London but with a nationwide catchment area. 

Who do you care for (i.e. age limits)?: age 16 and over

What is you catchment area?: I accept self-referrals nationally for telephone support.

What approach and therapies are offered?: 

Jen is an NHS trained Clinical Psychologist who works with people with both Type 1 and 2 diabetes who may be struggling with eating issues. These may include anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, comfort eating, obesity, restrictive eating, body image concerns and those who deliberately take less insulin to try and control their weight. 

Sessions will be tailored to your individual needs, and include cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness-based work or a combination of approaches. The aim is to come to a shared understanding of your difficulties and a plan for how to tackle them together. Sessions can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly, in person or over the phone. 

Any Further information/ Comments?: Positive Diabetes is run by Dr Jen Nash, an NHS trained Clinical Psychologist who has been living with type 1 diabetes since childhood. Jen has struggled with eating issues herself and is now recovered.
