On the 18th August Jacqueline, Director of dwed met with various managers at Diabetes UK. The Head of Careline and Advocacy Services Ruth is going to look into signposting the website and careline. She is also going to help us use diabetes UK's current network to get information out about dwed and also distribute our publications. As dwed is currently working on information packs for various departments in the NHS and the public at large this could prove invaluable support.

Maria, head of Media, has also suggested how dwed can proceed with the press, live broadcasts seem to be the way to avoid the message being re-edited and sold as a horror story, The meeting was useful and will inform dwed's media strategy over the next year.

Helen, head of major suporters and a T 1 herself has suggested various ways of fundraising and also offered her help to get Dwed salaried. DWED is overwhelmingly grateful to her and very much looking forward to working to working with Helen in the future.

Helen, head of Public Affairs had some great suggestions as to how dwed can promote their agenda in the political environment, she is also going to assist us to do so, her ideas will inform our policy plan over the next year.

Roz. London Regional Manager, has expressed her wish to get young people involved with DWED also involved with Diabetes UK and NHS diabetes. She has been very helpful in encouraging director, Jacqueline to attend various service user groups, NHS policy groups and other forums, as a result Jacqueline is attending 5 further meetings regarding care of T1's in the NHS over the next few months.
